Picture Switchgear Replaced Inside the Window

Read the South Carolina project story below and picture your own project beside it.

Switchgear · South Carolina technical college · Prime contractor on a state project

ELEKproTEK served as prime contractor on a South Carolina technical college project that replaced switchgear and a transformer inside a planned outage window.

Challenge
Aging main and lighting distribution panels and a 500 kVA transformer had to come out within a planned outage window.
What we did
Replaced them with new switchgear and a 300 kVA transformer, coordinating rigging and the outage plan.
Result
New switchgear and transformer in service, with NETA acceptance testing at the finish.

Questions

Imagine Every Question Answered Before You Call

Each answer below comes from how ELEKproTEK works today.

What does an electrical contractor do?

An electrical contractor plans, installs, repairs and tests electrical systems for buildings and plants, and answers for the finished work. ELEKproTEK does that for commercial and industrial properties, with controls, instrumentation and automation from the same team.

What is the difference between an electrical contractor and an electrician?

An electrician performs electrical work. An electrical contractor is the company that takes on the project, leads the crew and answers for the finished scope.

ELEKproTEK is the contractor, and a Master Electrician leads every scope.

How do I choose an electrical contractor?

Ask who finds the cause, who explains the fix and who writes down what changed. Ask for the written scope before work begins, and ask who leads the crew.

At ELEKproTEK, a Master Electrician leads every scope and every visit ends with a written summary.

Do you work on both commercial and industrial projects?

Yes. The same team handles offices, restaurants, retail, warehouses, plants and public buildings, which helps when one property has more than one kind of electrical need.

Do you work with general contractors, owners and public agencies?

Yes. We support owners, general contractors, property managers and public agencies with electrical scope and coordination, and we confirm the contracting details for your project when you request your quote.

Do you handle controls and automation as well as power?

Yes. The same team handles PLC and SCADA, instrumentation and calibration, and building and factory automation beside the electrical scope.

How fast can you start, and do you offer emergency service?

Service requests are received around the clock, 7 days a week, by phone at 888-586-5554 and through the form. Service is by appointment.

New requests are scheduled within 24 hours of first contact when we have availability, weekends included, and the booking page shows open times and an emergency option. Clients already in our system have even easier access to 24/7 coverage.

Who leads the work?

A Master Electrician leads every scope, and ELEKproTEK is a WBE certified company. Ask about license and certification details when you request your quote.

Does my appointment deposit count toward the project?

Yes. Every appointment deposit credits toward your project total, emergency service included.

Your project total is at least the amount of the appointment you booked, and the free virtual quote is a free way to start.

What happens after I send the form?

You choose your appointment: a free virtual quote, an on-site inspection, emergency service or a permit request. Then you receive a written report and quote, and we complete the service you approved first.

After that, you can choose a 30-day, 90-day or annual agreement to stay supported. Every step is spelled out, so you always know what comes next.

Can you support a project outside your hubs?

Our hubs are Atlanta, Charleston, Charlotte and Richmond. Send the form with your project location and scope, and we confirm what is possible.

The short form and the phone number sit right below the last answer.
